In art, Year 6 explored their own identity through painting and portraits. They looked at artists: Njideka Akunyili Crosby and Frida Kahlo who used layering in meaning and also through their physical art. The children spent time practising sketching parts of their faces and then sketched their own self portrait. They then painted using acrylics, ink and then looked at how paint behaves on different surfaces.
