Erupting volcanoes

Date: 19th May 2017 @ 2:25pm

In Geography, we have been learning all about earthquakes and volcanoes. To end our topic, this week we have been extremely busy making our volcanoes ready to erupt! First we had to get a piece of cardboard and cellotape a plastic bottle to the bottom. Then we had to papier mache lots of newspaper and paper to build up our volcanoes. After that, we painted them and left them to dry for 24 hours. Finally they were ready to erupt!

We all went outside and used bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and red food colouring to make them erupt! The children were fascinated by it and had lots of fun :).

Take a look at us making and erupting our volcanoes:

Also, we say goodbye to Vishakh today, who has been in our class since reception! We are very sad to see him leave but we wish him all the best of luck at his new school.
