It started with a basket!

Date: 6th Nov 2018 @ 2:47pm

We have had a very exciting week in Nursery and it all started with a mystery basket arriving. A basket like no other basket we had seen before. The basket contained a pointy black hat, a broomstick, a magic wand, a yellow hair bow and a cauldron. We were very good at being detectives and using the clues collected thought it must have been a witch. The next day to our surprise we received a parcel and in this parcel was the story Room on the Broom. After reading this story we were sure that the witch from the story had left the mystery basket. We acted on this by making our own missing posters to try and find the witch so we could return her things. You may have seen them around our classroom!

This week we have also been very busy investigating pumpkins. We became scientists using our senses. We explored the outside of the pumpkin which we all agreed was orange, bumpy and very heavy even with our big muscles. Then we cut open the pumpkin and explored the inside of the pumpkin. This is where it got messy. Have you ever put your hand inside a pumpkin? It is slimey, gooey and very slippery and there are hundreds of seeds inside. The children thought we could use the pumpkins to make pumpkin pie or pumpkin soup!

Take a look at us exploring our pumpkin.
