The children have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of using the new Shanghai Maths Project books and have persevered when things got difficult. For the past few weeks, we have been revising and improving our addition and subtraction skills. We have used various methods such as partitioning, counting on or back on a number line, bar models, line models and column methods with regrouping and exchanging. To help us really understand the concept, we have used lots of concrete resources.  We are also getting much better at 'coaching' our partners through the Kagan structure Rally Coach.
