National Coding Week- crumbles, catching and simulations

Date: 21st Sep 2023 @ 4:08pm

In our computing lessons this week we have been learning all about coding. Across the week we have completed various different activities, which all involve coding. We began the week by coding the crumbles. The children had to ensure they wired them up accurately and created the correct code to program the crumbles to do different tasks such as make a servo move and light up the sparkles. Later on in the week, we did some coding on Purple Mash. The pupils created their own catching games and used coding to simulate a physical system. Working together, they were able to create a code to simulate traffic lights- there were lots of parts to our code. We had lots of fun and learnt lots of new vocabulary including: algorithm, simulation and variable.
