Our first week back

Date: 1st Nov 2018 @ 7:14am

We have had a lovely first week back in Class 3! The children are now in new Kagan teams and have been working cooperatively with their new teammates.

In Literacy, we have been learning about using apostrophes for possession. Miss Henderson needed a little bit of help as she forgot to put them in the correct places so we helped her. We have also been learning about Greek Gods and Goddesses so that we can write a fact file about them.

In Maths, we have been practising our counting skills by playing one of our favourite games: cops and robbers! We have also been working very hard on solving problems using multiplication and division. We have found this quite challenging but we have been using lots of concrete and pictorial representations to help us. Miss is very pleased with how we are 'showing' our answers and using mathematical vocabulary to help us understand the questions.

At the end of the maths lesson, some of us had different answers, so Miss asked us to all look at what we had done together to see if we could find out who was right and where the others had made a mistake. Lytham was correct, Jayden had forgotten to write one of the amounts and Joe had written one of the amounts incorrectly. It really helped us see the importance of making sure we had the correct information and checked our work carefully.
