Pirate poetry and exchanging ten

Date: 2nd Jul 2017 @ 1:49pm

This week we finished our pirate poetry. The children have written list poems, acrostic poems and experimented with similes. We also imagined being marooned on an island. Well done to Amelia, who is our latest star writer. Her deserted island description was phenomenal and written with real flair!

In maths all of the children have been learning how to take away when regrouping is required (e.g. 52-27). They used Dienes and a frame for support and are now experts at exchanging ten when necessary.

And our glove puppets are almost finished too. The children's designs are clearly reflected in the puppets that they've made. Keep an eye out for a gallery of them soon!
