Science Club Week 1

Date: 5th Mar 2017 @ 2:04pm

This week we started our first Science Afterschool club. This club is to raise the profile of science and give children at Abbott a chance to take part in fun practical science.

This week we had lots of fun making Lava lamps.

We investigated what happens when we change the temperature of the water, what happened when we added more tablets and what happened when we added water, oil and then more water. We found out that the more tablets made lots of more bubbles which gave us lots more lava bubbles. We found out that hot water made the tablets react quicker. We not only learnt how to make Lava lamps but we know about the chemical reactions that happen.

Take a look at the children in action. I was really pleased how well they worked together. True Scientists in the making!
