Spring 2, Week 2

Date: 10th Mar 2017 @ 2:04pm

Class 3 continue to amaze me with their hardwork and determination; I am always so impressed with them! If you have read our previous blog post, you will have noticed that we had an alien invasion!! This prompted some fantastic pieces of writing from the children and as a treat, today we made a huge alien slime together!

In Maths we have been learning how to divide numbers that have remainders. The children have been using arrays, grouping and sharing to help them. Some of them have been using their times tables knowledge to also work out the answers. In 2019, times tables tests will be introduced so we are helping the children to become more secure with them, especially their 3s, 4s and 8s. The best way for them to learn is to practise at home as well so your help is much appreciated. The children enjoy playing Hit the Button in school, which can be accessed at home at: http://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button.

Well done to Stevie who is this weeks Star Writer. Stevie wrote a very thoughtful diary entry as if she were a farmer during the Ancient Egypt times as well as that she wrote a well-structured set of instructions to make alien slime.

Next week is we have our trip to John Rylands Library and it is also Science Week so make sure you check out our blog to see what we have been up to :).
