Autumn 1 - Week 6

Date: 12th Oct 2018 @ 7:16pm

In Maths this week the children have continued to explore numbers to 20. They worked in their teams to create a pasta poster. In order to make the poster, the children had to read the number then make it using different types of pasta. The children worked well in their teams and further developed their ability to support each other with their learning.

This week the children have continued to explore our art topic 'Earth Art'. Linking to autumn, the children made their own hedgehog using leaves that they had collected from the playground. They really enjoyed creating their hedgehogs and I was very impressed with how some children used the leaves to create patterns.

In computing, the children have been developing their knowledge and understanding of technology. After spending some time exploring the laptops, and identifying the different parts and their functions, the children used a computer programme called Purple Mash. When the children were logging on, we had a discussion about keeping passwords safe. They were very mature and could all explain why this is important to do. The children then created their own avatar and spent time exploring the different tools available on Purple Mash.

This week Betsy decided to spend the weekend with Amelia. Betsy was impressed with Amelia's reading and writing skills in Literacy all week!
