What does cress need to grow well?

Date: 12th Feb 2017 @ 4:52pm

This week we finished our science experiment to see what cress needs to grow well. We found out that it will grow without soil, not at all without water and poorly without any light.

After lots of work on fractions, we finished this week's maths by exploring measurement. The children could already measure lines with a ruler, but their challenge was to make strips of different lengths I gave them. They did so well and used rulers and metre sticks to make their strips.

The children also took home their story strings from when we worked with writer Claire Dean to make our own Mary's Wonder Tales. Please do check the website if you haven't already. She shared her storymaking process and we set out to explore the objects and wonder about what they were and where they came from. We gathered our ideas and then made stories using story strings to help share the stories with each other. On this site you’ll find recordings of the stories and examples of the objects from the collection that inspired them. http://maryswondertales.weebly.com/
