World Mental Health Day

Date: 10th Oct 2018 @ 1:18pm

To celebrate World Mental Health Day, we have been discussing how we can manage (and cope with) our feelings. We talked about what Mental Health is and how things can change a person's Mental Health. Then we looked at different feelings and emotions people might express at different points in their lives. We completed a 'My feelings frame' where we had to draw a picture to represent how we would feel during certain events.

Learning how to cope with negative feelings is something that children often struggle with so we have all made a 'wheel of coping skills'. The children decorated them with bright, happy and nice things and then wrote various things that they could do if they were experiencing negative thoughts.
