Year 3 Trip to Manchester Art Gallery, by Mr Neilson

Date: 6th Jun 2023 @ 8:10am

Year 3 walked to Manchester Art Gallery for a fantastic tour and workship with Sam Owen Hull. We explored how tiny details can be noticed when you take a 'slow look' at artwork and explored how artists use colour, pattern and texture. As we explored the gallery, the children were shown how to use different techniques to create their own artwork. After lunch, I showed the children the objects gallery on the top floor and they had time to choose and draw some of their favourite pieces.
