Autumn 1: Week 7

What a wonderful half term we have had! The children have amazed me with how hard-working and eager to learn they are.

This week, we have finished our art unit by experimenting with water colours. The children completed a drawing. went over it with a pen/felt tip, and then added water colours to it. They added more water to make a lighter tint, and added less water to make a darker tint.

In maths, we have continued to explore part-part-whole models to understand addition, and we have started our Mastering Number sessions. The children enjoy playing our subitising game and are getting much quicker at identifying how many dots there are quickly. Also, we have started to use the rekenreks to aid our understanding of numbers.

We have finally finished reading Bog Baby, which the children have thoroughly enjoyed. They have written fantastic diary entries as if they were one of the little girls in the story.
