Evolution and Inheritance

Date: 24th Feb 2025 @ 3:49pm

Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed learning all about evolution this term! They learnt what the words adaptation and inheritance meant and looked closely at the work of scientist Charles Darwin and his birds! Year 6 experimented with tweezers (short beaks) and chopsticks (long beaks) to see how many seeds they could pick up at a time. They realised that it was much easier to pick seeds up with a short beak and through this understood that these birds would be more likely to surive.
