Explore and Draw!

Class 2 have really enjoyed their art topic 'Explore and Draw'. We looked at the work of Alice Fox. She explores and collects items and objects from her allotment to create art with. We also looked at the sculptures created by Richard Long, using natural materials such as rocks, stones and logs. Class 2 then explored the environment around school, collecting items we could use to create our own artwork. We made sculptures with the items we collected and photographed our own artwork. We then explored the patterns we could see on the natural objects and created wax resist paintings using wax crayons and water colour paints. We also sketched our items using different mediums, such as sketching pencils, pens and charcoal.
